Safety is more than compliance. It is a responsibility.

Why Safety Sutras exists

Most industrial safety knowledge is either locked inside thick standards and long procedures, or reduced to slogans on a poster. The people who most need it. The supervisor planning a lift, the technician isolating a pump, the student preparing for an interview. Need something in between: knowledge that is accurate, concise and usable at the point of work.

That is what a sutra is. In Indian tradition a sutra is a short thread of knowledge. Compact enough to remember, deep enough to unfold. Safety Sutras applies the idea to industrial safety: clear principles, explained plainly, linked to their sources and connected to tools that help on the next shift.

Five dimensions of one practice

01

Safety professional

Practical industrial and project safety: the hazards, permits, briefings and decisions of real work.

02

Engineer

Technical analysis, risk engineering and systematic thinking about how controls succeed or fail.

03

Educator

Explaining clearly, so knowledge becomes practice for students, supervisors and crews.

04

Author

Books, handbooks and original technical writing, built to be used, not just read.

05

Innovator

AI, digital safety applications and emerging technology. Tested against evidence.

The approach

Kallyan’s work brings field practice, engineering thinking and teaching into one conversation. A good safety decision needs all three: the field view of how work actually happens, the engineer’s question of whether a control will really hold, and the educator’s discipline of making the reasoning clear enough for others to apply.

The same thinking shapes the interest in AI. New technology can help people see risk sooner, or it can add a confident-looking layer that hides what it does not know. Safety Sutras looks at both sides: AI for safety, and the safety of AI.

Principles

What you can expect here.

Learn. Apply. Innovate.

Start from the work

Safety improves when we get curious about how work is really done, in today’s conditions, not only how the procedure describes it.

Show the source

Every article links to primary sources and states its jurisdiction, publication date and review date.

Say what is opinion

Facts, Safety Sutras perspectives and hypothetical teaching examples are always labelled so readers can tell them apart.

Respect the people closest to the hazard

Tools are written for crews and supervisors, and never present themselves as a substitute for competent judgement.
