Entry supervisor
Before entry
- Entry is necessary. The task cannot reasonably be done from outside
- All inlets are isolated (product, steam, inert gas, electrical, mechanical)
- The atmosphere has been tested with a calibrated instrument, in the correct order and at different levels
- Continuous monitoring is arranged for the duration of the work
- Ventilation is in place where required
People and rescue
- A trained attendant will remain outside throughout the entry
- Communication between entrant and attendant is agreed and tested
- The rescue plan does not rely solely on the emergency services
- Rescue equipment is at the entrance and the rescue team is available
- Everyone knows: no one enters to attempt rescue without protection
Atmospheric test readings (time / O₂ / flammable / toxic)
